What
are the ingredients to creating a quality website?
Clear, concise and easy
to read content
People who use the web to gather information merely scan through
most websites. Therefore, your pages should not be cluttered with
useless information. Tip...create a link on your website that allows
you to elaborate more about a particular subject. Add a "read
more" link at the bottom of your page
Speed
The average web user today is using Windows ME and is connecting
through a 56k modem. Huge graphic and photo files are ineffective
for today's web users if they take a long time to download. Design
your site so that your pages load in under seven seconds for a 56k
modem.
Scrolling
How far down should your viewers scroll on your website?
There is no standard answer but you should try to get as much information
as possible in the main screen of your website so that viewers do
not have to scroll for miles to view you web content.
